Overview

SSS Transpose ("the Extension") is a browser extension for music practice. We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency about what data we collect — which is essentially nothing.

Data Collection

The Extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Specifically:

• No accounts required. You do not need to sign up or log in.
• No analytics or tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party tracking.
• No browsing history collected. The Extension does not record or transmit the URLs you visit.
• No cookies. The Extension does not read or write cookies.

Local Storage

The Extension stores your preferences (pitch, speed, loop points, theme, hotkeys) locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage API and the browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.

Pro License Validation (Optional)

If you purchase a Pro license, the Extension sends your license key to Lemon Squeezy's API (api.lemonsqueezy.com) to verify its validity. No other personal information is transmitted. The license key and validation status are stored locally on your device.

Permissions

The Extension requests the following permissions, each for a specific purpose:

• activeTab / tabs: To interact with the current page's audio/video elements.
• storage: To save your settings locally.
• scripting: To inject the extension UI into web pages.
• tabCapture: For the Picture-in-Picture feature.
• alarms: For periodic license re-validation (Pro users only).
• host_permissions (<all_urls>): To work on any website with audio/video content.

Third-Party Services

The Extension may interact with:

• Lemon Squeezy — Only for Pro license validation. Your license key is sent over HTTPS to api.lemonsqueezy.com.
• Feedback endpoint (optional) — Only if you configure a feedback URL in Settings. The endpoint receives the message you typed plus page URL (with query/hash stripped), title, and browser info.

No data is shared with any other third party.

Children's Privacy

The Extension does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
